Self Love: How Can Self Care Nourish Your Body and Mind?

Self Love is taking care of your body through self care by giving your body the nutrients it needs.

Supplements are just that, supplementary.

Food should always be your main source of vitamins and nutrients. The only issue with eating today's food is that it lacks most of the nutrients our bodies need to thrive, that's why we supplement. There are thousands of supplements available and it can be difficult to choose the right one.

I remember my first experience of having anxiety attacks it was very difficult because I immediately expected the worse. At this point I was in school studying Alternative Medicine and learning about the essential nutrients our bodies need to function properly. I learned that Magnesium was what I needed during that time to help combat my struggles with anxiety and depression.

Magnesium became my best friend; whether it was capsules, epsom salt baths, topical magnesium and a liquid pico magnesium. I have taken them all!

I have experienced amazing benefits from using magnesium and other supplements to alleviate stress over the years. These supplements became a huge part of my Self Care routines and a major component to my health and healing.

Stress can wreak havoc on your body and mind, but there are ways to manage it naturally. Fortunately, there are natural ways to cope. Here are some supplements sourced from food that can help alleviate stress and anxiety and enable your body to adjust:

  • Ashwagandha: An herb that has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries. It has been shown to reduce cortisol levels, improve cognitive function, and alleviate stress and anxiety.

  • Rhodiola Rosea: This adaptogenic herb can enhance mood and reduce fatigue.

  • Magnesium: This mineral is crucial for proper muscle and nerve function. It can also reduce anxiety and improve sleep quality.

  • Vitamin D: While our bodies can produce Vitamin D when exposed to sunlight, many people are deficient in this essential vitamin. It is vital for bone health, immune function, and may even help reduce depression.

  • Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Essential for brain health, omega-3s can be found in fatty fish like salmon. They can also help reduce inflammation in the body.

Remember it’s important to consult with a healthcare professional before incorporating any supplements into your routine to ensure they are safe and appropriate for you.

Since magnesium is so crucial to our well being; we now have magnesium supplements available in our Tea Shop to help replenish magnesium, promote relaxation, calm and combat insomnia.

Our magnesium oil spray is a topical form of pure magnesium that can aid in digestion, reduce muscle aches, migraines and headaches.
